How the “Thirty Days” Works
In the next thirty days you will have the opportunity to read scripture, answer a couple questions, and spend time praying. Our hope is when you have finished the “Thirty Days”, you will have grown in your relationship with Jesus Christ and that you will have formed some new habits that you can continue to practice as you continue to pursue our Savior.
One of the habits we want to help you form is prayer; spending time talking to and listening to our God. Prayer seems, and can be very mysterious. What is the purpose of prayer? What kind of prayers does God answer? How do I know He hears my prayers? Though many of these mysteries remain unclear, what we do know is that God invites us to pray, and that it is a great way for us to connect with our God. Below is an acronym that will teach you different elements of prayer.
P.R.A.Y.
Praise – thank God for who He is and what He has done
Repent – identify the sin you are guilty of and ask God to forgive you and give you the strength to turn away from this sin
Ask – to invite God to move in specific ways in your life or the lives of others
Yield – to trust that God is loving enough and is able to handle this
