In August 2009 Cornwall applied to be partnered with a church in Ethiopia through Compassion International’s Church 2 Church Partnership program. We were selected, among hundreds of applicants, to be one of thirteen churches nation-wide partnered with a church in Ethiopia. Leaders from Cornwall traveled to Ethiopia in February 2010 and met our partner church for the first time: Gulele Muluwongel Full Gospel Believer’s Church in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Gulele Muluwongel is a church of over 3,000 people. Led by Pastor Thisname, the congregation has a huge heart and they are intently focused on their community!

Our partnership with Gulele Muluwongel is built on a foundation of equality in Christ and seeks to glorify God through working together as One Body.

Our relationships in Ethiopia with Gulele Muluwongel, Hannah’s Hope Orphanage* and Dr. Geb** provide a variety of opportunities to serve the people of Ethiopia. Trips to Ethiopia may include any combination of the following:

  • building and/or construction projects
  • worshipping with Gulele Muluwongel
  • community outreach with Gulele Muluwongel
  • spending time with kids
  • painting
  • relationship building
  • child sponsorship visits
  • children’s events

Cornwall is currently planning two mission trips to Ethiopia, one in November of 2011 and another in the Spring of 2012.  For more information about joining either of these teams, contact Carma Roetcisoender, Go and Be Director, at carmar@cornwallchurch.com or 733.2150.

Below is a video of Pastor Dave Bushnell sharing about our partnership with Gulele to the congregation during the sponsorship weekend!

Camp Rock’s focus on Ethiopia raised over $14,700 to fund the Ethiopia hair salon project. Please pray for the leadership team and wisdom for selecting the 26 woman to participate in this program.
