Anxiety and depression are on the rise among America’s youth and, whether your student personally suffers from these conditions or not, 70% of teens today see them as major problems among their peers and 1 in 3 will experience an anxiety disorder. Anxiety is a real problem for our youth.
On November 16th, we have invited a panel of mental health professionals who will share practical insights that will help us love our kids well in the midst of anxiety and depression.
Amanda Shannon has been working in the counseling field since 2008. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Child Mental Health Specialist and Development Delay Mental Health Specialist. She specializes in Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Perinatal and works with Children, Teens, and Adults.
Wes Wynn is currently in private practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Lynden. His counseling experience began as a Youth Pastor in Houston, TX. While working as a Youth Pastor he began his journey towards licensure as a Professional Counselor.
Deborah Crandall will be speaking on Anxiety and Depression. You will learn about warning signs, next steps, and when to get help for your student.
Her counseling approach focuses on increasing individual self-awareness as she draws from interventions that primarily have roots from CBT, Life Skills Training, and DBT. She is passionate about partnering with the clients in identifying the most effective ways to succeed in their current stage of life and providing tools to cope with difficult circumstances that may arise along the way.
